AR Tests Simple Software

I downloaded the free demo of the Metaio Creator Software which is a quick and easy software to use in uploading tracking images and also the augmented creations.
This is my first go at the software so i just had a quick experiment.

I used the logo for the tracking device and then just a simple jpg of a sign saying happy birthday would pop out when looked at though smart phone. The software grades the tracking image out of 3 stars for how well the phone is able to track the image.

Final Logo

I showed my current logo selection to Chris and Dan to see what there opinions are on the logo direction and they both preferred this version of the logo.
I experimented with the variations a bit to see if there are any angles that i might of missed.
I like the subtile phone reference compared to just putting a phone in the logo. The typeface logo been in lower case and very rounded makes it sem more inviting say if is used a very masculin typeface.

Code Breaker Further Logo Ideas

Open publication - Free publishing - More code

I played around with a few more ideas for the Code Breaker logo. I have had this week mainly focusing on the AR brief but i had a few ideas i wanted to get out before i forgot them.

I looked at documents where the contents is blacked out. I thought this might be an interesting concept to look into.
I also looked at bar code and lines, among braille and also morse code. All these ideas will need some development as they are all quickly mocked up.

Choice on Typeface AR

We ended up choosing the type face Gotham for the Logo and body text font. I was using it in my initial logo design and we felt it is a good representation of the image we want to portray for our company.
Its very rounded font work very well with the logo created.

Initial designs for Technology Card

Seen as though our target audience are young male who are interested in new technology i thought i would make a card which resembles this. So i made a huge range of vectored images from gaming, technology and entertainment.
i am happy with the design and because it is monotoned i think i might screen print the card.

Card Drawings 5th March

Here are my initial ideas for augmented cards.

My first idea is a technology themed card. with a target audience of males aged 12-21. Not restricted to this age group but could be given to anyone with an interest in gaming and or technology. With me a simple single colour pattern with vectored images.

This is my idea of what should be augmented on the technology card. I wanted a games console where the CD trey opens and has a personal message on the actual CD for the person receiving the card.

My second idea is an space themed card. I wanted a simple cover maybe photographic or a vectored solar system. The Augmented part of the card would be a huge earth that con hopefully rotate on an axis. Another extra which could be added in the moon that would orbit the earth.

I had this idea that you could even augment the envelope a card comes in. As money is something that is often given in birthday cards i though of an idea where by you hold your phone over the envelope and it almost looks like x-ray vision and shows a few notes which are hidden in the card.

My final idea was a simple frame design on the card but the augmented part of the card would be a personal message which is been recored by the person/s sending the card.

Book of Code.

Here is a book created for with the intention of displaying all the different types of code. The book is Swiss Bound consisting of 172 pages. Layouts are lovely and fresh. The cover uses grey board with adhesive lettering and also a varnish. I do like the idea of letters that you stick on it creates the illusion of a emboss or a professional print finish which is raised up.

AR Logo Development

Open publication - Free publishing - More devlopment

I chose my favourite logos from the initial ideas and had a play in trying to develop these further. Not sure what direction the other two want to go down but i will ask to see which the other guys prefer.

Code Breaker Radio waves Experiment

I found a website which allows you to manipulate radio waves to create these interesting shapes and forms. Its a shame you can save the pieces as a Jpg as we are only able to screen shot what i have made. Visually they are really attractive so i will see if there is any possibility of making them myself.

I started to look into changing up the formation of the logo playing around with how it might be read. I don't know why but i really like the idea of making the logo look like a glitch.
Eddie is unsure about the glitch idea but i will get that boy round to my way of thinking.
I do like the progress on the logo i am making but me and eddie cannot agree on the concept.
